Advancing Bartlett LLP’s winning tradition, Partner Steve Snair obtained a complete defense verdict on March 6, 2025, when a Kings County (Brooklyn, NY) jury rendered a verdict rejecting all of the Plaintiffs’ claims.
The two Plaintiffs alleged that our food market client’s employee was negligent and acted with intent in connection with an assault and battery on the premises. After a weeklong trial, the jury found that our client’s alleged conduct was not a substantial factor in the assault and battery and that the employee not act jointly with two others, who had already been found liable for the assault and battery against the two Plaintiffs.
Associate Julia Buli’s outstanding work on a profoundly impactful motion in limine, among other things, helped put Steve on the path to victory.
This is outcome is particularly encouraging for defendants considering the sensitive nature of the allegations in this historically pro-plaintiff venue.
