Zan Sheikh is an Associate in Bartlett LLP’s General Liability and Medical Malpractice Defense groups, based in the firm’s New York office. His practice focuses on complex litigation involving healthcare liability, insurance fraud, transportation claims, New York Labor Law, and premises liability.

Prior to joining Bartlett LLP, Zan was an Associate at a midsize litigation firm where he concentrated on insurance defense and fraud-related claims, including no-fault insurance fraud. Earlier in his career, he represented national insurance carriers and rental car companies in both court and arbitration proceedings, where he developed deep experience investigating claims, analyzing provider billing practices, advising clients on claims strategy, and resolving disputes.

Zan earned his J.D. with a concentration in Health Law from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. While in law school, he worked with the Hofstra/Northwell Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic, supporting clients on healthcare-related legal issues tied to the social determinants of health. He also interned at the Nassau County Supreme Court Matrimonial Center under the Hon. Jeffrey A. Goodstein, gaining valuable courtroom exposure.

In addition to his legal practice, Zan brings a frontline healthcare perspective to his work. A New York State certified Paramedic (EMT-P), he began volunteering during college and later served in NYC 911 and inter-facility transport roles for the largest private health system in New York State. His direct experience in emergency care and medical operations enhances his ability to understand and defend the interests of healthcare systems and professionals.

Zan also has a background in independent pharmacy management, giving him additional insight into the regulatory and business challenges faced by healthcare providers.

He earned his B.B.A., cum laude, from Hofstra University, with a concentration in Legal Studies in Business.

Zan’s multidisciplinary background in law, healthcare, and business operations provides a well-rounded foundation for his litigation practice and client advocacy.
